Job Responsibilities:

Operational Planning & Implementation

  • Implement unit operations by understanding plans, activities, and key performance measures, communicating with stakeholders, and monitoring daily execution.
  • Report on performance by tracking targets, identifying progress or concerns, and submitting quarterly reports.
  • Manage unit performance by analyzing deviations and implementing corrective actions as needed.

Compliance & Processes

  • Ensure adherence to unit business processes by monitoring compliance and addressing anomalies.
  • Enforce policies and procedures by identifying non-compliance and implementing corrective measures.
  • Oversee unit systems and software, reviewing utilization, and driving improvements.

Production & Maintenance

  • Complete production planning by aligning operational schedules with site priorities and managing material logistics.
  • Supervise equipment maintenance, track inventory, procure parts, and implement preventive maintenance programs.

Incident & Safety Management

  • Resolve explosive-related incidents through investigations, emergency protocols, and stakeholder coordination.
  • Ensure SHE (Safety, Health, Environment) compliance through training, monitoring, and timely issue resolution.

Stakeholder & Team Management

  • Maintain relationships with internal/external stakeholders and service providers, ensuring delivery standards are met.
  • Support recruitment, manage resource allocation, and supervise staff performance with feedback and development plans.
  • Monitor HR policy compliance and address non-conformities proactively.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Matric/Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering or related field.
  • Valid blasting certificate.
  • Code 08 C1 driver’s license.
  • 5+ years in mining/explosives industry.
  • 5+ years of computer proficiency.
