Join a growing distributor and DIY retailer as an Assistant Accountant. This hands-on role is perfect for a detail-oriented professional responsible for managing financial and operational systems and controls.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain supplier invoice filing and review approvals and account entries.
- Compile monthly supplier reconciliations for payment processing.
- Post discounts and settlement journals accurately.
- Resolve supplier queries and process returns efficiently.
- Reconcile credit card control accounts and seller transactions.
- Manage bank account and debtors payment reconciliations.
- Issue month-end statements and follow up on overdue payments.
- Prepare and verify electronic timesheets.
- Process monthly payroll, including loan deductions and advances.
- Reconcile Amazon transactions and returns.
- Liaise with Takealot to investigate and invoice missing stock.
- Oversee monthly stock takes and resolve discrepancies.
- Implement financial and operational systems to improve efficiency.
- Minimize stock shrinkage through structured controls.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in Xero Accounting Software, Microsoft Excel, and Google Sheets.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Experience with e-commerce platforms (Amazon, Takealot).
- Solid understanding of internal controls and accounting principles.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
