Dischem Vacancies – Receiving Clerk (Fixed Term)

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is looking for a dedicated Receiving Clerk (Fixed Term) to join the team at our Walmer Park store. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and efficient receiving, processing, and packing of stock in line with Dis-Chem’s standard operating procedures and customer service standards.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 / Matric

• Computer literacy

• Strong numerical ability

• Willingness and availability to work retail hours

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience in receiving, retail, or FMCG environments

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately scan, verify, and capture all stock received at the store according to company policies and procedures

• Receive warehouse deliveries and supplier invoices in line with operational standards

• Return unordered or damaged goods and process credit notes for non-accepted stock

• Cross-check deliveries and invoices to ensure completeness and accuracy

• Verify that delivered stock matches invoices in terms of quantity, variety, and condition

• Assist the Receiving Manager in preparing and capturing warehouse claims

• Maintain consistent stock receipt flow to ensure same-day processing and dispatch to the sales floor

• Process supplier returns according to Dis-Chem SOPs

• Implement and uphold all physical controls in the receiving area

• Keep the storeroom neat, organized, and compliant with safety standards

• Support in managing and monitoring high-risk or high-value stock

Competencies Required

• Strong knowledge of receiving procedures and administrative tasks

• Excellent command of the English language

• Good interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with suppliers, reps, staff, and management

• Analytical and time-management skills

• Physically capable of handling and lifting heavy stock (20kg or more)

Additional Skills (Advantageous)

• Bilingual communication ability

• Familiarity with stock rotation systems
