Purpose of the Role:
The Branch Manager is responsible for overseeing financial performance, business operations, marketing strategies, and people management at the Zeerust branch.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management

  • Monitor and optimize branch performance, including:
    • New business loan advances
    • Interest revenue and fee income
    • Branch expenses and age analysis
    • Provisions and impairments

Business & Compliance Management

  • Ensure adherence to internal policies and National Credit Act (NCA) lending regulations.
  • Enforce collections policies and procedural compliance.
  • Investigate and report non-compliance or fraudulent activities.
  • Maintain accurate daily/monthly branch reconciliations.
  • Oversee hardware and software maintenance.

Sales & Marketing Management

  • Develop and execute sales and marketing plans to drive growth.
  • Measure effectiveness and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Promote cross-selling of non-loan products.
  • Engage in community-focused marketing initiatives.

People Management

  • Lead, motivate, and evaluate branch staff performance.
  • Foster effective communication between branches and Area Managers.
  • Address staff training needs and recommend promotions, appointments, or salary adjustments.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Matric. Sales/Marketing qualifications are advantageous.

Experience:

  • 2+ years in microfinance or banking, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong leadership and team management.
  • Excellent communication (verbal & written) in at least two local languages.
  • Financial acumen and administrative precision.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and banking systems.
  • Ability to resolve conflicts and multitask under pressure.
  • In-depth knowledge of loan products and pricing.

Additional Requirements:

  • Clean ITC record.
  • Willingness to perform duties beyond core responsibilities.
