Costing Clerk Opportunity – Helderberg Personnel
Purpose of the Role:
The Costing Clerk ensures expenditure on repairs is recovered at the required profit, while adhering to insurance company policies and SLAs. The role involves invoicing all work completed in the production department to maximize company profitability.
Requirements:
- Senior Certificate (Grade 12); a financial qualification is advantageous
- 2–5 years of experience as a Costing Clerk in the automotive industry (auto body repair industry preferred)
- Knowledge of end-to-end processes in an auto body repair environment
- Experience interacting with Motor Assessors is beneficial
- Strong computer skills (MS Suite)
Preferred System Experience:
- Nett Assess
- OUTsurance
- Audatex/Abuntex
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify and authorize accurate costing for repairs
- Confirm labour, paint hourly rates, and price mark-up
- Cross-check parts against supplier invoices
- Cost work-in-progress to ensure correct sales pricing
- Escalate unpurchased parts to Estimator/GM
- Follow up on unauthorised parts for resolution
- Secure assessor authorization on WIP and final costing
- Ensure all insurer-billed parts have accompanying invoices
- Complete administrative duties accurately and timeously
- Review daily costing and documents with General Manager for sign-off
