Job Purpose:
Lead and manage the dispensary and clinic operations to deliver high standards of pharmaceutical care, ensuring service excellence, compliance, and achievement of sales targets, strengthening the brand’s competitive advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accurate and safe dispensing, including generic substitution, and provide professional advice in line with Clicks’ standards, good pharmacy practice, and SAPC regulations.

  • Manage all operational activities of the dispensary, including stock control, shrinkage prevention, housekeeping, and administration, in line with company and regulatory standards.

  • Maintain operational viability through effective financial management, monitoring dispensary and clinic targets, managing expenses, and taking proactive corrective actions.

  • Lead, motivate, and develop employees, learners, and interns to build capacity and capability to meet current and future business needs.

  • Schedule staff according to labour policies, ensuring departments are fully staffed, and manage weekly time, attendance, and HR record submissions.

  • Drive customer service initiatives in the dispensary to enhance the patient experience, foster loyalty, and achieve club card participation targets.

  • Promote integration and collaboration with the clinic and healthcare aisle to offer customers a comprehensive healthcare experience.

  • Foster cohesion between store operations, pharmacy, and clinic teams to ensure seamless service delivery.

  • Drive a high-performance culture that supports employee engagement, customer satisfaction, and shareholder value.

  • Support the Group’s vision to be the customer’s first-choice health and beauty retailer by living and promoting company values.

Minimum Requirements:

Education & Experience:

  • Registered Pharmacist with SAPC (essential)

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience post-community service (essential)

  • Minimum 1 year people management experience (essential)

  • Registration with SAPC as the Responsible Pharmacist (essential)

  • Retail pharmacy experience (desirable)

  • Unisolv system experience (desirable)

Knowledge & Skills:

  • SAPC regulations and relevant legal knowledge

  • Ethical working practices and compliance

  • Stock, cost, risk, and compliance management

  • Patient care and professional counselling

  • Customer service excellence

  • Labour legislation and industrial relations knowledge

  • Financial management and application of principles

  • Competency-based interviewing, managerial, tutorship, and coaching skills

  • Results-driven with strong planning, organisational, and problem-solving abilities

  • Customer-oriented with excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Computer literacy and strong financial acumen
