About the Role
We are looking for a Platform Data Engineer to contribute to the design and development of data platforms that meet business requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop new applications/systems for the data platform environment.
- Analyze business or system requirements and enhance data platforms.
- Collaborate with Architects to compile solution design documentation.
Education (Minimum)
- A relevant degree in Information Technology or Data Analysis.
Minimum Requirements
- A relevant 3-year tertiary qualification (degree or diploma).
- Experience with data storage and access technologies.
- Knowledge of testing methodologies and mentorship.
- QA experience for work done by others.
- 3-5 years’ proven experience in:
- Management Information Systems (MIS)
- Data warehousing
- Data transformation information systems
- Technical Proficiency in:
- AWS (cloud environment)
- Python
- SQL
- Postgres
Knowledge Required:
- IT systems development processes (SDLC)
- Data pipelines and dimensional modeling
- Relational database systems, cloud data warehousing, or big data frameworks
- Standards, governance, and testing practices
- People leadership principles
- Quality assurance practices
Ideal Qualifications
- Experience in AWS and Azure environments.
- Knowledge of orchestration technologies and data modeling.
- Understanding of:
- Data architecture (technical design and implementation)
- Banking systems and business models
- Best practices for Quality Assurance (QA)
