Purpose of the Role:
The Branch Manager is responsible for the financial, business, marketing, and people management of their branch to ensure optimal performance and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management:
- Monitor and manage branch performance in:
- New business loan advances
- Interest revenue & fee income
- Branch expenses & age analysis
- Provisions and impairments
Business/Compliance Management:
- Ensure full compliance with internal policies and NCA lending regulations.
- Oversee adherence to collections procedures and branch policies.
- Investigate and report any non-compliance to the Area Manager.
- Detect and report suspicious activities or potential fraud.
- Maintain 100% accuracy in daily/monthly branch balancing.
- Manage company hardware and software maintenance.
Sales and Marketing Management:
- Develop and execute sales and marketing plans to boost branch growth.
- Track effectiveness and adjust strategies as needed.
- Drive cross-selling of non-loan products.
- Enhance community engagement through targeted marketing efforts.
People Management:
- Lead, motivate, and evaluate branch staff performance.
- Foster clear communication between branches and Area Managers.
- Make operational decisions and resolve branch issues.
- Identify training needs and facilitate development.
- Recommend staff promotions, appointments, and salary adjustments.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Matric qualification. Sales/Marketing certifications advantageous.
Experience:
- 2+ years in microfinance or banking with proven managerial experience.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Strong leadership and team motivation abilities.
- Excellent verbal communication and conflict resolution skills.
- Proficiency in numeracy, administration, and compliance.
- In-depth knowledge of loan products, pricing, and consumer finance.
- Computer literacy and report management with a sense of urgency.
- Multilingual proficiency (2+ languages) preferred.
- Adaptability to handle tasks beyond core duties.
Additional Requirements:
- Clear ITC record.
- Proven financial and operational management expertise.
