Applications are invited for the Contractor Coordinator – Networks position at Herotel.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The Contractor Coordinator – Networks (CCN) will lead and manage Contractor operational teams in a designated area, ensuring high-quality field work on infrastructure and customer premises. This role involves close collaboration with other CCNs, Area Managers, and the Networks Manager to achieve regional objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Area

  • Manage the physical network infrastructure in the assigned area, ensuring proper deployment, maintenance, and customer installations.
  • Act as custodian of the network from the POP to customer premises, ensuring Contractor compliance with Herotel standards.
  • Collaborate with the Area Manager to enhance customer network experience.

Management

  • Translate business and tactical goals into operational plans, including monthly standardised plans.
  • Participate in Level 2 Value Chain MOS collaboration to resolve operational challenges.
  • Oversee Contractor management by:
    • Developing and executing daily standardised plans.
    • Ensuring Contractor teams have necessary tools, equipment, vehicles, and safety resources.
    • Assigning clear daily task expectations (speed, quality, cost, safety).
    • Measuring performance via KPIs (SQSCT) and QC protocols, implementing corrective actions.
    • Reporting on metrics, KPI trends, and resolutions.
    • Upholding partnership agreements with customers and suppliers.
    • Conducting training and coaching for Contractor teams.
    • Facilitating daily Level 1 MOS meetings to address operational triggers.

Leadership

  • Receive tactical guidance from Network & Commercial Managers and functional leadership from the Regional Network Manager.
  • Align with governance, policies, and best practices set by the Networks Manager and specialists.
  • Mentor Contractors to improve performance and alignment with Herotel’s values.
  • Ensure cross-functional and inter-regional alignment.

Key Outputs

  • Develop operational and daily execution plans for Contractors.
  • Guarantee resource availability for Contractor success.
  • Train and coach Contractors to enhance efficiency.
  • Prioritise critical tasks and eliminate non-value-added activities.
  • Leverage data-driven decision-making.
  • Lead MOS collaboration in sync with national processes.
  • Foster Herotel’s business culture within the team.
  • Report on Contractor performance, triggers, and resolutions.
  • Achieve network goals for the assigned area.

Experience & Skills Required

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years in a telecommunications technical environment.

Skills & Competencies

  • In-depth knowledge of Herotel’s network infrastructure.
  • Strong leadership, conflict resolution, and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle stress and support team resilience.
  • Proficiency in management (planning, organizing, leading, controlling).
  • Clear verbal and written communication.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and best practices.
  • Results-driven with analytical problem-solving abilities.
  • Sound judgment and adaptability.
  • Knowledge transfer and coaching capabilities.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel.

Education Requirements

  • Grade 12.
  • Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in a relevant field (advantageous).
