Truworths Careers – EBD Administrator

Truworths is looking for a detail-oriented and service-driven EBD Administrator to join our Employee Benefits Department at our Head Office in Cape Town. This is a great opportunity for someone with a solid background in payroll and HR administration, who is passionate about accuracy, efficiency, and providing excellent internal support.

The EBD Administrator will play a key role in maintaining payroll systems, processing employee data, and supporting HR administrative functions. If you thrive in a deadline-driven environment and enjoy working with numbers and people, this role could be the perfect fit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update the Oracle payroll and HR system

  • Process daily payroll input to ensure timely and accurate payments

  • Manage and file documentation related to new hires, terminations, promotions, transfers, and allowances

  • Conduct leave balance audits and handle queries that affect salary inputs

  • Assist in checking payroll and coordinating dispatch

  • Perform month-end reconciliations and process related payments

  • Liaise with HR, divisional offices, retirement fund administrators, and healthcare administrators on salary-related matters

  • Provide employment confirmations when requested

  • Support the team with general administrative duties including filing and answering calls

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 2 to 3 years of payroll and employee benefits experience

  • Relevant qualification is essential

  • Experience with UK payroll is an added advantage

  • Strong numerical skills and attention to detail

  • Good knowledge of PAYE, UIF, SDL, and other statutory regulations

  • Understanding of Sectorial Determination 9 is beneficial

Key Competencies:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; Oracle Payroll and HR system knowledge is advantageous

  • Ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Proactive with the ability to take initiative

  • Highly organised, thorough, and reliable

  • A team player with a positive and adaptable attitude
