Group Reporting and Analysis Lead – FirstRand
This role is responsible for delivering the consolidated financial narrative of RMB. It drives internal and external reporting, providing strategic, data-led insights to senior leadership, enabling informed decision-making that supports the bank’s growth, objectives, and operational efficiency. By evaluating business performance, financial forecasting, risk management, and market intelligence, this role ensures leadership has access to timely, relevant insights. Collaboration with finance, risk, operations, and compliance teams is key to shaping high-level strategic decisions.

Are you someone who can:
Data Analysis & Financial Reporting
- Analyze financial data, operational performance, and market trends to generate strategic insights for the executive team.
- Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations tracking KPIs, financial metrics, and strategic objectives.
- Ensure data accuracy and integrity, presenting insights in clear, actionable formats for senior leadership.
- Lead internal reporting for executives and external market reporting, supporting the FirstRand Reporting Team.
Strategic Decision Support
- Partner with leadership to align data-driven recommendations with long-term business goals.
- Evaluate and support strategic initiatives, such as new product launches, market expansions, and M&A opportunities.
- Optimize capital allocation, budgeting, and resource planning through rigorous financial analysis.
Risk Management & Scenario Analysis
- Identify and assess financial, market, and operational risks, proposing mitigation strategies.
- Develop scenario models to forecast potential business impacts under varying economic conditions.
- Deliver risk assessment reports with actionable insights to safeguard the bank’s stability.
Market Research & Competitive Intelligence
- Research banking trends, competitor strategies, regulatory changes, and customer needs to inform decisions.
- Monitor competitor performance, market share, and industry shifts to strengthen RMB’s positioning.
- Highlight emerging opportunities or threats in the financial services sector.
Executive-Level Communication
- Prepare concise presentations and reports for C-suite executives and board members.
- Translate complex financial data into clear, impactful insights for non-technical stakeholders.
- Ensure timely, accurate delivery of strategic information to guide key decisions.
Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams
- Align with finance, risk, marketing, and compliance teams on data needs and strategic priorities.
- Support forecasting, budgeting, and financial modeling initiatives.
- Facilitate inter-departmental data integration for cohesive analysis.
Business Intelligence & Technology Integration
- Leverage tools (Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Python) to enhance data analysis and visualization.
- Optimize business intelligence systems for real-time, relevant reporting.
- Drive adoption of advanced analytics tools to improve decision-making frameworks.
Performance Tracking & Reporting
- Monitor strategic initiatives, providing leadership with progress updates and risk mitigation plans.
- Assess business unit, product, and market performance to identify improvement opportunities.
- Develop and track performance improvement strategies through continuous analysis.
You will be an ideal candidate if you:
- Qualified CA with advanced degrees (MBA, Finance Master’s) or certifications (CFA, FRM).
- Proven experience supporting senior leadership in a regulated financial environment.
- Expertise in financial modeling, forecasting, and data-driven decision-making.
- Strong knowledge of banking operations (corporate banking, global markets, private equity).
- Background in risk management and regulatory compliance.
