Operational Manager – Verifications (BDO)

Purpose of the Role
The Operational Manager at BDO will drive strategic, operational, commercial, and financial leadership to ensure the effective delivery of BEE Verification Services and related offerings. This role focuses on profitability, operational excellence, and sustained growth while aligning with company goals and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute company strategy to enhance verification services.
  • Implement operational policies, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Secure qualified personnel and systems to meet strategic targets.
  • Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities in verification services.

Operations Management

  • Ensure compliant and efficient daily operations across all regions.
  • Maintain and optimize the Verification Services management system.
  • Oversee audits and technical committee activities.
  • Guarantee adherence to SANAS and industry standards.

Financial Oversight

  • Develop and manage budgets, ensuring financial targets are achieved.
  • Monitor profitability, ROI, and cost efficiency.
  • Implement pricing strategies and oversee debt collection and insurance management.

Sales, Marketing & Commercial Growth

  • Execute marketing and sales strategies to expand market share in verification services.
  • Drive client acquisition and retention initiatives.
  • Build strategic partnerships to support business growth.
  • Lead and develop the sales team for optimal performance.

Human Capital Management

  • Recruit, train, and retain skilled personnel.
  • Foster a performance-driven culture aligned with company values.
  • Implement HR strategies to support business growth.
  • Conduct training on BBBEE verification requirements.

Governance & Risk

  • Act as Technical Signatory and Analyst as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with risk, independence, and internal policies.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • NQF Level 6 or higher qualification.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years in senior management, preferably in verification or compliance-driven sectors.

Essential Skills & Knowledge

  • Expertise in BBBEE regulations, audits, and financial governance.
  • Completion of BEE Management Development Programme (MDP) or equivalent.
  • Strong leadership in fast-paced, multi-functional environments.
  • Strategic thinker with excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
