Introduction:
This role will be responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing RMA Life’s overall Broker Development strategy while growing its existing book size.
Description:
THE JOB AT A GLANCE
As the Business Development Consultant for RMA Life, you will drive the Group Risk sales and customer targets in alignment with our BOS Strategy. Your focus will be on sustainable revenue growth and profitability by maximizing market penetration.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
- Provide strategic direction to the RMA Life Group Risk Business Development function.
- Secure new business partners and expand opportunities within the current client base.
- Design, implement, and manage business initiatives, strategies, and solutions focused on relationship development and retention.
- Negotiate business development transactions, including agreements and partnerships.
- Maintain expertise in group risk industry trends, competitors, and regulatory developments.
- Conduct market research to ensure competitive advantage and alignment with industry best practices.
- Build and nurture relationships with key industry players, attending relevant events and conferences.
- Foster long-term partnerships with clients, intermediaries, and strategic stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Pricing and Product teams to provide technical expertise to clients.
- Work with Pricing, Administration, Disability Management, and Underwriting teams to ensure exceptional service delivery.
- Deliver actionable customer analytics and market intelligence to support business decisions.
- Contribute to the development of Marketing and Customer Strategy for RMA Life Group Risk.
- Align sales initiatives across different RMA Life divisions to support overall company strategy.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE TABLE?
- 10-15 years of Employee Benefits experience, including at least 5 years in EB business development.
- Business degree (advantageous).
- RE5 Certification (required).
- NQF 5 in Wealth Management or Financial Planning / 120 FAIS credits (required).
- Strong stakeholder relationship management skills.
- Exceptional sales and business development capabilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
