Truworths is seeking a skilled and proactive Electronics Technician to join the technical team, playing a vital role in supporting operations with electrical maintenance and problem-solving. This role requires a hands-on individual with solid knowledge of electrical systems, preventative maintenance, and automation processes, including PLC. The ideal candidate is reliable, punctual, self-managed, and comfortable performing minor building maintenance as needed.
Key Responsibilities

Provide technical support to the Distribution Centre

Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical systems and equipment

Troubleshoot and repair electrical faults to reduce downtime

Install and maintain electrical wiring, fixtures, and components
-
Test systems to ensure full functionality and compliance with safety standards

Collaborate with teams to resolve electrical issues and support daily operations
-
Maintain detailed records of maintenance, inspections, and repairs
-
Respond to breakdowns and emergencies, including overtime when required
-
Manage stock and control of critical spare parts
-
Ensure adherence to safety procedures and support housekeeping (5S standards)

Perform regular inspections of health and safety registers
Qualifications and Experience
-
Minimum of 3 years’ technical or maintenance experience, with expertise in conveyors and motors

Red Seal trade test certificate

Minimum NQF Level 3 qualification

PLC knowledge and programming skills
-
Relevant electrical engineering or technical certification

Valid driver’s license
-
Strong proficiency in interpreting wiring diagrams and troubleshooting electrical systems

Familiarity with regulatory codes and safety standards

Able to work both independently and in a team setting

Good communication skills and the ability to respond to urgent operational needs
