Receptionist – Purpose of the Role
The Receptionist is the first point of contact for visitors and employees, delivering a professional, welcoming, and efficient front-desk service. This role ensures smooth communication, access control administration, and effective support to the HR and Corporate Services teams while upholding FlySafair’s security and service standards.
Key Responsibilities
Front Desk and Visitor Management

Welcome and assist all visitors and employees in a professional and courteous manner

Manage the reception area to ensure a clean, organised, and professional environment

Provide front-desk support and respond to general enquiries efficiently
Switchboard and Communication

Operate the switchboard by receiving, screening, and directing incoming calls accurately

Coordinate outgoing deliveries and courier collections to support efficient communication flow
Access Permits and Security Administration

Create and issue access permits in line with FlySafair and ACSA security procedures

Manage the end-to-end ACSA permit application and renewal process for employees and contractors

Issue crew cards to new and existing employees

Monitor permit expiry dates and ensure timely reprints and distribution across all bases

Liaise with ACSA offices and internal departments to coordinate documentation, appointments, and approvals

Maintain and update the access permit database, ensuring accuracy of personnel details, access levels, photographs, and expiry dates
Fleet and Administrative Support

Monitor and maintain the company vehicle logbook in accordance with usage policies

Coordinate scheduling and administration of company car wash services

Provide general administrative support to the HR and Corporate Services team as required
Minimum Requirements
-
Grade 12 or equivalent
-
1–2 years’ experience in a reception, front-office, helpdesk, or administrative support role
Qualifications and Experience

Certificate or Diploma in Office Administration or a related field (advantageous)

Experience within an aviation, corporate, or customer-service environment (advantageous)

Exposure to switchboard operations, visitor management systems, or access control processes (advantageous)
