Senior Treasury Manager – Dis-Chem Pharmacies (Midrand)

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking a Senior Treasury Manager to join our Head Office Finance team in Midrand. This critical role supports the Head of Treasury in managing the Group’s treasury function, including cash flow forecasting, foreign exchange, compliance, financial reporting, and strategic treasury initiatives. The successful candidate will oversee treasury controls, process improvements, and team leadership to drive operational excellence.

Minimum Requirements

Essential:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • CA(SA), CIMA, ACCA, or CPA qualification
  • Minimum 3–5 years post-articles experience in financial management, treasury, corporate finance, or financial control

Advantage:

  • Experience with SAP, advanced Excel, and treasury/corporate finance certifications
  • Honours in Finance or Accounting
  • Experience in retail, listed, or FMCG sectors
  • Prior people management experience

Key Responsibilities

  1. Financial Transactions & Treasury Support

    • Prepare short, medium, and long-term cash flow forecasts
    • Monitor daily cash positions and liquidity
    • Conduct FX exposure analysis and hedging reports
    • Execute foreign exchange transactions and IFRS-compliant revaluations
  2. Financial Analysis & Control

    • Analyze treasury trends across currencies and jurisdictions
    • Contribute to board and management reporting
    • Align treasury strategies with Financial Planning & Accounting teams
  3. Treasury & Financial Controls Management

    • Support daily treasury operations
    • Mentor and oversee treasury and finance staff
    • Develop SOPs and internal controls
  4. Financial Reporting & Compliance

    • Assist in preparing statutory financial statements (cash flow, FX disclosures)
    • Support year-end audits and regulatory compliance
  5. Strategic Treasury Projects

    • Drive treasury digitalization, ESG initiatives, and automation
    • Participate in banking partner reviews and funding projects
  6. Risk Management & Process Improvement

    • Mitigate FX, liquidity, and operational risks
    • Optimize treasury workflows and data integrity
  7. Banking & Regulatory Compliance

    • Ensure compliance with SARS, SARB Exchange Control, and internal policies
    • Manage bank mandates, loan transactions, and audit documentation

Competencies

Essential:

  • Strong treasury, IFRS, and financial reporting knowledge
  • Advanced Excel, Power BI, SAP experience
  • Leadership, financial acumen, and problem-solving skills
