Warehouse Manager Opportunity at Absolute Pets
Absolute Pets is seeking a highly skilled Warehouse Manager to oversee operations at our retail distribution warehouse in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing inventory, people, processes, and systems, along with a strong commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure warehouse compliance with company standards
- Manage efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods
- Optimize warehouse space utilization
- Strategically plan warehouse layouts, routes, and deliveries
- Monitor quality, quantity, stock levels, and delivery efficiencies
- Conduct weekly cycle counts and investigate inventory discrepancies
- Achieve cost, productivity, and accuracy targets
- Foster clear communication within the team and across the site
- Improve staff performance through coaching and training
- Supervise, mentor, and develop the warehouse team
- Maintain accurate attendance records
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly management reports
- Ensure timely completion of tasks and resolutions to issues
- Uphold Health, Safety, and Environmental standards
- Be available for emergency call-outs when required
Required Skills & Proficiencies:
- Adaptability to fast-paced, high-volume warehouse environments
- Strong process improvement and system implementation skills
- Leadership ability to drive company success at a management level
- Excellent communication and policy interpretation skills
- Team development and performance enhancement expertise
- Proficiency in creating and refining management reports
- Highly organized, efficient, and hands-on leadership style
- Valid driver’s license and reliable own transport
Qualifications:
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Tertiary qualification in Logistics, Warehousing, or Distribution (advantageous)
- Minimum 3 years of Warehouse Manager experience
