Job Purpose
To lead and drive adidas Golf sales in the South Africa Cluster, ensuring market leadership, target achievement, and alignment with brand objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Planning
- Develop strategic business plans to achieve SA & Export NetSales targets and manage full-country P&L.
- Lead the creation of long-term strategic business plans (Mainstream & Moonshot 2.0) to align with company goals.
- Establish geographic, account, and retail development plans based on defined KPIs.
- Identify and expand new distribution channels and customer bases for growth.
- Coordinate sales, retail marketing, and operations plans for optimal POS productivity.
- Prepare detailed quarterly and annual sales forecasts per account.
- Align demand planning and inventory to maximize sales performance.
Management
- Oversee the entire South Africa Golf team with direct leadership responsibility.
- Manage sales, retail, and channel development in alignment with business plans.
- Strengthen relationships with senior management of key accounts.
- Ensure high-quality retail execution, trade marketing, and visual merchandising.
- Guide the team in daily operations and uphold company policies.
Distribution & Financial
- Collaborate with Cluster Sports SLT to optimize Golf distribution channels.
- Achieve financial targets, including sales margin, A/R management, and T&E budget control.
- Ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.
Systems & Processes
- Streamline key business processes (sales, POS management, forecasting).
- Develop market intelligence platforms to track industry trends and competitor activity.
HR & Training
- Set performance goals, evaluate talent, and foster leadership through coaching.
- Promote teamwork and integrity within the team.
- Identify training needs to enhance team capabilities.
Key Interfaces
- Regional Functional Teams (Product, Marketing, Finance, Operations).
- adidas sales, retail, and shared services in SA.
- Golf media, VIPs, influencers, and commercial partners.
KPIs
- Full P&L for SA Cluster.
- Inventory turnover and A/R management.
Skills & Qualifications
- 10+ years in sales management (consumer goods industry).
- Strong leadership, strategic planning, and financial acumen.
- Bachelor’s degree (advanced degree preferred).
- Proficient in English.
