Senior Accountant – BDO
BDO is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our International Outsourcing Centre. This role involves managing portfolios of clients, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and providing valuable insights to support business performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare reliable monthly financial reports and deliver actionable insights to clients.
- Review and prepare statutory accounts in compliance with UK GAAP and other relevant frameworks.
- Manage a portfolio of clients, coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Support business advisory projects, including business reviews, forecasts, and performance analysis.
- Prepare consolidations and cash flow statements for year-end reporting.
- Utilize accounting software, including Xero, and other applications to streamline processes.
- Supervise and review the work of junior team members, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Mentor and train junior staff to foster professional growth.
- Collaborate with VAT, tax, and technical accounting teams for seamless service delivery.
- Research complex accounting issues and recommend solutions.
- Identify cash flow issues and propose corrective measures.
- Oversee project management, ensuring timely completion and effective communication.
- Adhere to the firm’s risk management and quality control policies.
Qualifications & Experience:
- B.Com in Financial Accounting or equivalent.
- Professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent).
- Strong expertise in FRS102 and financial reporting standards.
- Solid understanding of business controls and month/year-end processes.
- Experience in outsourcing, bookkeeping, and VAT compliance (including complex returns).
- Basic knowledge of Corporate Tax.
- Proven ability to research and interpret technical accounting standards.
- Familiarity with risk management in an accounting firm.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience in Real Estate or Construction is a plus.
