About the Role
At the Takealot Group, the BI Engineer collaborates with internal stakeholders to identify business intelligence, reporting, and data analysis needs. You will design, develop, and document dashboards, alerts, and reports while acting as a data steward and modeler. Your expertise will help answer critical business questions and uncover hidden insights.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead BI analytical projects using tools like Google BigQuery and Looker.
- Develop and implement enterprise-wide BI solutions.
- Translate stakeholder needs into actionable insights.
- Contribute to the planning, design, development, and testing of BI solutions.
- Establish and improve data quality metrics.
- Review data pipelines and test plans for accuracy.
- Research and recommend innovative BI tools and best practices.
- Mentor and guide team members on BI solutions.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in core BI functions.

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Business Management + 5 years of relevant experience.
- Alternatively, 8 years of Business Analysis or technical experience without a degree.
- 3+ years of experience with BI reporting tools (Looker, Tableau, Power BI, etc.).
- 3+ years of SQL and Data Warehousing experience.
- Proficiency in working with large datasets.
- Knowledge of business functional areas is preferred.
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform, BigQuery, Python, or eCommerce is a plus.
