Job Description
Dis-Chem is seeking a qualified Locum Clinic Practitioner to join the team at Weskus Mall, Vredenburg. The role involves managing and operating a profitable Primary Health Care Clinic within the pharmacy, delivering services in line with the scope of practice of a registered nursing practitioner.
Minimum Requirements
Essential:
- Grade 12 / Matric
- Tertiary qualification in General Nursing
- Degree/Diploma in Midwifery
- Registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC)
- BHF registration for nursing practitioners
- 2–3 years’ experience as a Primary Health Care Clinic Sister
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Advantageous:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Primary Health Care Clinic Sister
- Knowledge of Patient Record Systems, CKS, and Allegra
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform clinic duties according to industry regulations and best practices
- Manage patient flow and set clinic objectives to enhance service delivery
- Ensure all clinic services are available and operational
- Maintain accurate patient records and follow up on communications
- Process claims accurately and on time
- Ensure all stock and equipment are functional and available
- Build and maintain relationships with patients, store and dispensary management, colleagues, medical aids, suppliers, and other key healthcare stakeholders
Competencies
Essential:
- Knowledge of community health nursing, primary health care, and/or occupational health nursing
- Skills in family planning, cytology, IUD, pharmacology, EPI/cold chain management, STDs, emergency care, HIV/AIDS counseling, breastfeeding, pathology, and wound care
- Strong command of English (written and verbal)
- Analytical skills for monthly clinic statistics and commissions
- Emotional intelligence, entrepreneurial mindset, trustworthy, and honest
- Ability to self-manage and lead a team effectively
- Strong time management skills
Advantageous:
- Bilingual
- Understanding of business objectives
- Certification in Baby Immunisation, Family Planning, Primary Health Care, Breastfeeding, or Disease Management
Special Conditions of Employment:
- Willingness to work retail hours
- Physically fit to manage a Primary Health Care Clinic
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transport
- South African citizen
- Clear credit and criminal records
