Key Responsibilities:

Operational Planning & Reporting

  • Implement the unit operations plan by understanding activities, projects, and key performance measures, communicating with stakeholders, and monitoring daily implementation.
  • Track unit performance against targets, identify progress and concerns, and draft quarterly or required performance reports.
  • Monitor unit performance monthly, detect anomalies, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with unit business processes by identifying issues and resolving them promptly.

Policy & Systems Compliance

  • Monitor adherence to unit policies and procedures, addressing concerns and implementing corrective actions.
  • Review utilization of unit systems and software, identify improvement areas, and implement programs to enhance efficiency.

Material & Inventory Control

  • Maintain optimal stock levels by coordinating with internal teams, determining material requirements, and requisitioning stock as needed.
  • Support product ordering by managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and mitigating risks.
  • Ensure on-time material delivery by monitoring stock levels, forecasting requirements, and preparing contingency plans.
  • Oversee stock storage by tracking usage, enforcing FIFO principles, and managing disposal processes.

Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE) Compliance

  • Implement SHE practices, conduct reviews, and resolve issues within deadlines.
  • Monitor SHE risks, address concerns, and ensure compliance with standards at all times.
  • Maintain expertise in SHE protocols and apply them consistently.

Stakeholder & Vendor Management

  • Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, providing feedback and collaborating as required.
  • Track service provider performance, ensure adherence to standards, and address concerns monthly or as needed.

Requirements:

  • Matric/Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Diploma, Certificate, or Degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in supply chain within explosives and/or mining.
  • Proven expertise in maintaining explosives magazine registers.
