Job Description
As a Millwright (Day Shift), your responsibilities will include:
Safety, Health, and Environment
- Strictly follow all health and safety protocols.
- Maintain excellent housekeeping to ensure a safe and compliant work environment.
- Set a positive example by adhering to safety standards and procedures.
Performance and Delivery – Equipment Maintenance
- Assemble and install machinery according to blueprints and specifications.
- Conduct maintenance and testing to ensure equipment reliability and safety.
- Perform routine tasks like lubrication, alignment, and part replacement to prevent breakdowns.
- Diagnose and repair faults, including welding and machining as needed.
- Use precision tools to align and level machinery for optimal performance.
- Perform fabrication work to modify or create machinery components.
Work Execution and Accountability
- Adhere to Operating Model standards and procedures.
- Complete job cards accurately and submit them on time.
- Maintain all tools and toolboxes in proper condition.
Team Collaboration and Guidance
- Assist supervisors and colleagues within company policies to foster teamwork.
- Advise on maintenance strategies aligned with best practices.
- Ensure clear communication and task handovers between shifts.
Training and Development
- Provide hands-on training to learners and team members to build skills.
- Supervise work practices to ensure compliance and performance standards.
This role is part of the Engineering & Maintenance (ENG) department at Band 9 (C1/C2), reporting to the Mechanical Day Shift Supervisor.
Qualifications
- Grade 12 Certificate or N3 Technical.
- Trade Certificate as a Millwright.
- Valid South African driver’s license.
Technical Knowledge
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Millwright.
- Strong awareness of safety standards.
- Familiarity with company policies and procedures.
- Proficiency in equipment, tools, and machinery relevant to the role.
- Competence in technical assessments.
