About the Role
As the Manager SCP (Evergreen), you will play a crucial role in aligning business strategic objectives with operational execution across supply chain planning teams. You will be responsible for optimizing sales, reducing waste, and driving supply chain profitability through standardized processes, data-driven decision-making, and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Supply Chain Profitability
- Understand cost and income drivers to influence supply chain efficiencies.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising KPIs (waste, availability, sales).
- Develop trust-based vendor relationships and implement joint efficiency initiatives.
Strategic Sales Planning
- Ensure adherence to promotional and event planning processes.
- Guide teams in creating category-specific sales plans aligned with commercial targets.
- Track forecast risks and provide insights on pricing, promotions, and range strategies.
Strategic Operational Execution
- Standardize planning tools and reporting for accurate execution.
- Monitor KPI performance, identify risks, and drive corrective actions.
- Ensure teams leverage data to enhance forecast accuracy and operational efficiency.
Continuous Improvement & Standardization
- Collaborate with leadership to enhance planning tools and processes.
- Quantify and implement initiatives that drive business impact.
- Contribute to annual and quarterly operational plans aligned with business strategy.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Foster strong relationships with internal and external partners.
- Collaborate with Commercial, technical teams, and vendors for seamless execution.
- Address store-specific challenges and support new product launches.
Team Leadership & Development
- Provide direction, mentorship, and support to planning teams.
- Identify training needs to enhance team performance and accountability.
Minimum Requirements
- BCom Logistics, Quantitative Analytics, Industrial Engineering, or related degree.
- 2+ years in supply chain planning, with 1+ year at Pick n Pay.
- Proficiency in SAP ERP, F&R, Power BI, and other planning tools.
- Strong analytical, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of commercial strategy, DC/store operations, and retail economics.

- Deep understanding of retail value chains, cost drivers, and KPIs.
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to lead high-performing teams.
- Collaboration skills to drive alignment across functions.
