Project Lead – Distribution Enablement
THE JOB AT A GLANCE
The Project Lead will spearhead and coordinate strategic initiatives within the Distribution Enablement function at Rand Mutual Assurance, driving sales growth, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence. This role ensures the successful delivery of projects, including sales and API process optimization, regulatory compliance projects, and system enablement initiatives, to help achieve the company’s Annual Premium Income (API) targets and Green Compliance score.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
Project Planning & Execution
- Develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, and deliverables.
- Track execution of partner onboarding, SOP optimization, JV integrations, and compliance remediation.
- Identify and resolve risks, issues, and dependencies.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as a liaison between sales, operations, compliance, IT, and external partners.
- Facilitate meetings and monitor action items.
- Prepare and present project status reports.
Process Improvement & SOP Governance
- Implement optimized and standardized processes for onboarding, policy issuance, premium collection, and commission payments.
- Monitor and report on cycle time reductions.
Compliance & Regulatory Alignment
- Ensure adherence to life insurance regulations, including FAIS, TCF principles, and POPIA.
- Support compliance monitoring and remediation efforts.
Reporting & Analytics
- Develop dashboards and reports to track project progress and enablement KPIs.
- Provide actionable insights to enhance project outcomes.
Benefits Realization & Business Value Tracking
- Define expected benefits and success metrics in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Maintain a Benefits Realization Tracker to measure outcomes against projected business value.
- Validate achieved benefits and report on revenue impact, cost savings, and efficiency gains.
- Identify gaps in benefit delivery and recommend corrective actions.
- Partner with key teams to embed benefits into business-as-usual processes.
Knowledge Management & Documentation
- Maintain a centralized knowledge repository for project documents, SOPs, and templates.
- Ensure version control and archiving of onboarding guides, checklists, and process maps.
- Develop playbooks and facilitate knowledge transfer sessions to upskill teams.
- Promote a culture of documentation and continuous learning.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE TABLE?
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Project Management, or Long-Term Insurance.
- 6+ years of project coordination/management experience in insurance or financial services.
- Strong knowledge of life insurance operations, compliance requirements, and sales enablement.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, OneNote) and project management tools.
