Description
Purpose of the Role:
The Cyber Security Consultant at BDO will contribute technical expertise to client engagements and internal projects. This role involves establishing and maintaining strong relationships both internally and externally while executing cybersecurity initiatives. Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting cyber risk assessments and controls testing
- Developing cybersecurity strategies and governance models
- Implementing cyber governance, risk, and control solutions for business and technology
- Advising clients on data privacy and compliance with POPIA/GDPR frameworks
- Designing and delivering tailored vulnerability management programs
- Performing penetration testing on systems, networks, and mobile environments
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in:
- Cyber risk assessment and controls testing
- Formulating cybersecurity strategies and governance frameworks
- Deploying governance, risk, and control solutions
- Guiding clients on data protection regulations (POPIA/GDPR)
- Building vulnerability management solutions
- Executing penetration testing across multiple platforms
