AML Investigations Business Bank Analyst – Capitec Bank
Purpose Statement
To execute daily operational activities within the Business Bank AML Operations environment, including enhanced due diligence, suspicious transaction investigations, name and payment screening, reporting, and quality assurance. This role ensures compliance with the Financial Intelligence Centre Act (FICA), Protection of Constitutional Democracy Against Terrorist and Related Activities Act (POCDATARA), Prevention of Organised Crime Act, and all related legislation within Capitec Bank.
Experience
Minimum:
- 2-3 years of investigative experience in a business banking AML environment
- Experience in analyzing information and making risk-based decisions
- Interpretation and application of regulatory requirements
Ideal:
- FICA exposure in a business banking setting
- Experience in a financial, legal, or investigative institution
Qualifications (Minimum)
- Grade 12 National Certificate / Vocational
Qualifications (Ideal or Preferred)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Risk and Compliance
Knowledge
Minimum:
- AML, counter-terrorist financing, and proliferation finance legislation
- Global money laundering mechanisms and sanctions regimes
- Client due diligence and AML risk management
- Risk Management and Compliance Programme in AML
- KYC and risk-based approach principles
- Investigation techniques and report writing
- Business entity structures and AML compliance
- Proficiency in MS Excel and Word
Ideal:
- Client due diligence for juristic and non-juristic clients
- Commercial banking products, services, and channels
- Trade-based money laundering
Skills
- Strong analytical abilities
- High attention to detail
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Effective planning, organizing, and coordination
- Clear and concise reporting
