Job Overview
We are seeking a Temporary EHS Coordinator to join our team at the Prospecton Plant. This role is critical in maintaining our EHS management system (GEHSMS – ISO 14001 & OHSAS 18001), ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving safety initiatives across the site.
Key Responsibilities
- Schedule and coordinate SHE Committee meetings for Manufacturing & Warehousing.
- Organize monthly and annual EHS Steering Group meetings, preparing necessary reports for senior leadership.
- Document and maintain meeting minutes for continuous reference.
- Manage the EHS action tracker, recording near misses, BBS, incidents, non-conformances, and risk assessments via MyEHS.
- Handle compensation claims and ensure all documentation is filed with incident reports.
- Drive GEHSMS compliance, including standard ownership and action plan management.
- Maintain PPE inventory and oversee distribution.
- Liaise with external suppliers (e.g., clinics, waste management providers).
- Ensure training records and matrices are updated, tracking completion of critical task certifications.
- Assist in emergency drills and safety campaigns.
- Review, update, and distribute EHS policies and procedures, maintaining document control.
- Oversee contractor management and compliance.
- Support sustainability initiatives and EHS awareness programs.
- Monitor and report on key EHS KPIs, including incident rates, waste management, and MESS targets.
- Ensure compliance with wastewater treatment and waste management regulations.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Matric certificate.
- 3-year qualification in Safety or Environmental Management (or equivalent).
- Knowledge of OSH Act, COID Act, environmental legislation, and risk assessment methodologies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP.
