What will you do?
Job Purpose
The Business Development Manager will develop and maintain an Investment Intermediary portfolio, drive the growth of Sanlam Group’s retail investment market share, and execute the Glacier Strategy.
Key Outcomes
- Attract new business and enhance retention of existing investment clients.
- Source and onboard new Intermediaries to Glacier.
- Achieve profitable sales targets by actively managing an Intermediary Portfolio.
- Expand regional business through Independent Financial Intermediaries via Sanlam Connect (sales, training, marketing, and client service).
- Implement an Intermediary support model to streamline collaboration between the Channel, Intermediaries, and Sanlam Group product providers.
- Provide accurate investment, product, fund, and market insights.
- Train and develop Intermediaries and their support teams.
- Support investment campaigns and marketing initiatives.
- Assist in product implementation, including presentations and development.
- Identify and address Intermediary needs—technology, reporting, and practice profitability.
- Manage the Business Development Coordinator.
- Maintain effective SLAs with stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with FAIS, FICA, and other regulatory standards.
- Promote Glacier’s digital tools, including the Web and Investment Hub.
Qualifications and Experience
- Financial or investment tertiary qualification.
- 3–5 years of experience in financial distribution.
- Proven success in supporting and growing IFA investment practices.
- Strong sales track record.
- Technical expertise in retail investments and industry trends.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
