Purpose of the Role
The Branch Manager is responsible for the financial, business, marketing, and people management of the designated branch.
Critical Outcomes
Financial Management
- Continuously manage and monitor branch performance in:
- New business loan advances
- Interest revenue
- Fee income
- Branch expenses
- Age analysis
- Provisions and impairments
Business/Compliance Management
- Ensure implementation of and adherence to internal policies.
- Maintain NCA compliance regarding lending and display requirements.
- Enforce collections policies and procedures.
- Investigate and report non-compliance to the Area Manager.
- Monitor and report potential fraud or suspicious activities.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting.
- Verify daily/monthly branch reconciliations.
- Oversee maintenance of company hardware and software.
Sales and Marketing Management
- Develop and execute sales and marketing strategies to enhance performance.
- Monitor effectiveness and adjust strategies as necessary.
- Drive marketing and cross-selling of non-loan products.
- Lead community engagement initiatives.
People Management
- Manage, motivate, and assess branch staff performance.
- Foster effective communication between branches and Area Managers.
- Handle decision-making and conflict resolution.
- Facilitate staff training and development.
- Recommend promotions, appointments, and salary adjustments.
Qualifications
- Minimum Matric. Sales and Marketing qualifications are advantageous.
Experience
- 2 years in microfinance or banking with proven managerial experience.
Knowledge and Skills
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills.
- High numeracy and literacy proficiency.
- Organizational and administrative expertise.
- In-depth knowledge of loan and consumer finance products.
- Proficiency in computer operations.
- Multilingual (minimum two local languages).
Additional Requirements
- Clear ITC record.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle urgent tasks.
