Purpose of the Role
The Product Specialist serves as the strategic link between business needs and technology solutions, ensuring seamless delivery and innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Translate business requirements into clear specifications and functional descriptions.
- Collaborate with development teams to implement solutions effectively.
- Design and manage test plans to validate business expectations.
- Research industry trends and evaluate new/existing applications.
- Conduct impact analysis and identify risks affecting project scope.
- Define MIS/reporting needs to support data-driven decisions.
- Ensure compliance with governance standards.
- Lead teams and manage change initiatives for smooth operational transitions.
Minimum Experience
- 7+ years as a Business Analyst (BA).
- 3-5 years in a Product Specialist or Product Owner role.
- Expertise in Vehicle and Asset Finance (VAF).
- Strong project management foundation (certification preferred).
- Proven experience in Change Management and business transformation.
Qualifications (Minimum)
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Business Analysis.
Knowledge Requirements
Must Have:
- IT systems development (full lifecycle).
- Application development, financial principles, and business analysis.
- Banking/IT standards, governance, and testing methodologies.
Ideal:
- Agile, SDLC, PRINCE2, and Change Management.
- Banking systems, credit/savings, collections, MIS/BI/Data Warehousing.
- UML, business process modeling (BPM – EA & Visio).
- Capitec’s systems, business model, QA best practices, and project management.
