Description
- Accurately handle all POS transactions and documentation to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Ensure no goods/stock pass through the POS without payment.
Requirements
- Grade 12 or at least 1 year of work-related experience.
- Ability to communicate in English and the dominant language of the area.
- Strong basic calculation skills.
- Excellent administration skills.
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and Public Holidays.
- Ability to work under pressure.
Key Performance Areas
Cash Handling
- Ensure all cash (floats, petty cash) balances correctly.
- Accurately identify and capture goods on the POS terminal.
- Record correct payment types from customers.
- Maintain sufficient change at all times.
- Process pick-ups accurately and within set guidelines.
- Perform accurate cash-ups at the end of each shift.
- Deposit daily takings into the Drop Safe/vault.
- Correctly process transactions for other stores, deliveries, and quotes.
Administration
- Sign, compile, and file all cashier-related documentation.
Ready for Business
- Adhere to Ready for Business and Beyond My Control as per the CB Way.
Customer Service
- Provide fast, friendly, and efficient service at checkout.
- Direct customers to the appropriate team members when needed.
- Follow the company dress code.
Safety (OHSA) Requirements
- Ensure compliance with safety standards for customers and staff.
- Report discrepancies to the Store Manager.
Security Awareness
- Follow system password controls at till points.
- Safeguard cash and transport it to the cash office as per Cashbuild policies.
