Coca Cola Vacancies – In Service Trainee Processing

Coca-Cola Beverages South Africa (CCBSA) offers an exciting opportunity for an In-Service Trainee in Processing within our Manufacturing department. The successful candidate will report directly to the Unit Manager: Processing and will gain valuable hands-on experience while supporting syrup room operations.

Key Purpose
The primary purpose of this role is to provide support in the syrup room by producing the final syrup for production lines. The trainee will be responsible for conducting checks and analysis on the syrup to ensure compliance with Coca-Cola’s KORE principles and regulatory standards. The role also involves exposure to significant automation, process control, and process optimization within the syrup room.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepare syrups for production lines.

  • Use SAP systems to ensure process governance and requirements are met.

  • Monitor and predict system and control operations.

  • Conduct process validations and troubleshoot automation and control failures.

  • Perform specialized quality analyses and document results.

  • Identify problems and improvement opportunities based on analysis results and communicate findings to relevant stakeholders.

  • Apply lean manufacturing principles.

  • Calibrate specialized equipment and assist shift-based teams with calibration tasks.

  • Conduct quality audits and communicate results, addressing any issues that arise.

  • Participate in problem-solving sessions and provide specialized assistance to shift-based teams.

  • Assist in the development of training materials and the training of shift-based teams on quality analysis.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and evaluate process optimization opportunities.

Skills, Experience & Education
Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 with Maths or Maths Literacy (pass with at least 40%).

  • Currently studying towards a National Diploma in Chemical Engineering.

  • Must be a South African citizen and an Employment Equity candidate.

  • Must not have previously completed the same qualification or learnership at another company or organization.

  • Must have been unemployed at the time of appointment.

  • Must be between 18-35 years of age.

  • Two South African languages passed at 40%.

Other Requirements:

  • A letter from the institution requesting workplace experience to complete the qualification.

Additional Information:

  • Ability to control stock of raw materials.

  • Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.

  • Understanding of planning and supply chain-related tasks.

  • Ability to archive data effectively and plan work efficiently.
