Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior VMware Engineer with expertise in VMware, AWS, and Linux to join our Cloud team. The ideal candidate will have strong technical and automation skills, a deep understanding of cloud infrastructure, and the ability to design scalable, secure solutions. This role requires hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code, cloud security, and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement VMware and AWS-based cloud solutions for scalability and performance.
- Develop, test, and deploy infrastructure as code using Terraform and Ansible.
- Implement backup and disaster recovery strategies, leveraging Veeam and other solutions.
- Automate cloud operations, including provisioning, configuration, and maintenance.
- Troubleshoot complex cloud infrastructure issues and optimize performance.
- Ensure security, compliance, and high availability of cloud environments.
- Collaborate with DevOps, SOC, and Network teams to deliver integrated solutions.
- Stay updated with emerging cloud technologies and drive improvements.
- Participate in on-call rotations for critical incident response.
Skills & Experience
- 7+ years of VMware cloud engineering experience (NSX-V/NSX-T required).
- Strong knowledge of AWS cloud services and Linux environments.
- Proficiency in Terraform, Ansible, and automation scripting (Python/Bash/PowerShell).
- Expertise in cloud security: encryption, identity management, and access control.
- Experience with Veeam backup solutions and disaster recovery planning.
- Networking fundamentals and cloud infrastructure configuration.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly.
Preferred Qualifications
- VMware VCP or VCAP certification (required).
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Kubernetes certification (advantageous).
- Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
