Rand Mutual Admin Services is seeking a strategic and visionary Head: Enterprise Architecture to define, govern, and evolve our enterprise architecture blueprint. Reporting to the Chief Information Officer (CIO), you will ensure all architecture and solution designs align with our scalable, secure, and innovative framework.
The Job at a Glance
You will lead the definition and enforcement of architecture principles, standards, and reference models across business, data, application, and infrastructure domains. Your role will accelerate delivery through reusable patterns, drive digital transformation, and mitigate risks through rigorous governance.
What Will You Do?
Architectural Vision & Principles
- Define and evangelize RMA’s architectural vision, principles, and standards.
- Ensure solutions align with a future-ready blueprint supporting strategic objectives.
Architecture Governance & Oversight
- Establish and chair the Architecture Review Board, enforcing compliance.
- Maintain a reference architecture library, patterns catalog, and technology standards.
- Conduct architecture health-checks, risk assessments, and design reviews for major initiatives.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation
- Research emerging technologies (AI/ML, cloud, serverless) through Proof-of-Concepts.
- Streamline architecture processes to speed up delivery and adoption.
- Publish best practices and lead knowledge-sharing sessions.
Stakeholder & Vendor Management
- Collaborate with Security, Data Governance, PMO, and business units to embed architecture early in projects.
- Evaluate vendors, negotiate technology standards in SLAs, and influence roadmaps.
Success Metrics & KPIs
- Track adoption of EA governance in major projects.
- Measure efficiency gains from reusable reference architectures.
- Mitigate risks by identifying and resolving design vulnerabilities before deployment.
Technical Ecosystem & Tools
- Define cloud/hybrid infrastructure and integration patterns (API-first, microservices).
- Select and manage EA tools for modeling and reporting.
Compliance, Risk & Data Privacy
- Embed regulatory and risk controls into architecture.
- Partner with Risk & Compliance to assess and remediate risks.
People & Financial Management
- Lead and mentor a high-performing architecture team.
- Forecast resource needs and manage the EA budget effectively.
- Foster accountability, collaboration, and engagement.
Professional Development & Culture
- Support certifications (TOGAF, CISSP, cloud) and internal architecture communities.
- Promote diversity, inclusion, and knowledge-sharing.
Management Reporting
- Provide executive updates on EA trends, risks, and resource capacity.
- Report on progress against roadmaps and completed risk mitigations.
Stakeholder Briefings
- Highlight architecture dependencies, compliance gaps, and cost-saving opportunities to leadership.

Requirements
- Honours degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
- TOGAF/Zachman certification (required).
- CISSP, MCSE/MCTS, or PRINCE2 (advantageous).
- 8–10 years in IT architecture (5+ in leadership).
- Proven success in large-scale, cross-domain architecture.
- Strong expertise in security, infrastructure, SDLC, and data management.
- Familiarity with ITIL, COBIT, and EA frameworks.
- Vendor management and SLA negotiation experience.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
