Purpose of the Role:
The Branch Manager is responsible for the financial, business, marketing, and people management of the Rosettenville branch.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management
- Monitor and manage branch performance, including:
- New business loan advances
- Interest revenue
- Fee income
- Branch expenses
- Age analysis
- Provisions and impairments
Business and Compliance Management
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements (NCA).
- Enforce collections policies and procedures.
- Investigate and report any non-compliance to the Area Manager.
- Monitor and report potential fraudulent activities.
- Ensure accurate daily and monthly branch reporting.
- Oversee maintenance of company hardware and software.
Sales and Marketing Management
- Develop and implement sales and marketing plans to enhance branch performance.
- Drive community engagement through targeted marketing initiatives.
- Focus on cross-selling non-loan products.
People Management
- Lead, motivate, and evaluate branch staff performance.
- Facilitate staff training and development.
- Manage staff promotions, appointments, and salary adjustments in consultation with Area Managers.
Qualifications:
- Matric certificate (required).
- Sales and marketing qualifications (advantageous).
Experience:
- 2+ years in microfinance or banking.
- Minimum 2 years in a managerial role.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) in multiple languages.
- Financial and administrative accuracy.
- Proficiency in computer operations.
- Knowledge of loan products and pricing.
- Conflict resolution and problem-solving abilities.
Additional Requirements:
- Clean ITC record.
- Willingness to go beyond job scope when required.
