Procurement Specialist – Red Bull South Africa
About the Role
Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the Procurement Specialist is responsible for managing the supply chain, evaluating suppliers, reviewing cost estimates, issuing purchase orders, and leading Contract negotiations. You’ll support cost optimization, supplier management, and efficient sourcing of goods and services (e.g., Facility/Office Management, Administration) for Red Bull South Africa. Ensuring alignment with global procurement guidelines, you’ll collaborate cross-functionally to meet business needs.
Key Responsibilities
Planning, Strategy & Risk
- Analyze market trends for pricing, availability, and supplier capacity to support Red Bull’s growth.
- Mitigate supplier risks and identify alternative vendors for competitive pricing.
- Qualify new suppliers and maintain transparent relationships with key partners.
- Lead and participate in strategic procurement projects.
Source to Contract & Compliance
- Finalize and approve contracts with suppliers and service providers.
- Ensure compliance with local sourcing guidelines and service level agreements.
- Issue purchase orders, verify invoices, and resolve discrepancies.
Business Partnering & Team Collaboration
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to align procurement with business needs.
- Monitor supplier performance through KPIs, reviews, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Communicate procurement value and results to stakeholders.
- Drive high-value tender processes as the primary point of contact.
Cost Management
- Negotiate supplier pricing to optimize costs.
- Provide insights into third-party spending and identify savings opportunities.
- Support regional initiatives to improve group spending efficiency.
Qualifications & Experience
- 5+ years in strategic procurement, preferably in FMCG.
- Diploma/Degree in Procurement, Business Administration, or related field.
- Strong project and process management experience.
- Expertise in category management and source-to-contract procurement.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint; SAP knowledge is a plus.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced global environment.
- 20-30% travel required.
