Job Description:
Perform wet chemistry analyses of samples as per applicable procedures. Analyze nutritional aspects, including protein, fat, fibre, starch, moisture, digestibility, and minerals. Work on a rotation schedule and conduct basic equipment maintenance. Actively support the development and maintenance of the ISO 17025 quality system and OHSE system.
Required Minimum Education/Training:
- National Diploma or BSc in Chemistry
Required Minimum Work Experience:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar laboratory environment (nutritional analyses)
Key Performance Areas:
- Conduct sample analyses according to specified methods.
- Calculate and record results on LIMS.
- Update QC charts and maintain accuracy.
- Draft quality documentation and spreadsheets.
- Capture data onto AIMS.
- Assist with record-keeping for stock management.
- Perform basic equipment maintenance.
- Contribute to ISO 17025 quality system development and compliance.
- Adhere to OHS guidelines and ensure safety in all procedures.
- Participate in fire team or OHS representative duties.
Technical Knowledge/Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of chemistry.
- Experience in an animal feed lab is advantageous.
- Proficient numerical and analytical skills.
- Computer literate, with advanced Excel expertise.
- High attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills.
- Strong planning, organizing, and time management abilities.
