Pharmacist Assistant

Job Objectives:
Support the pharmacy team in delivering professional, accurate, and confidential service to customers while ensuring compliance with legal and operational procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Interact with customers professionally, maintaining strict confidentiality and adhering to standard operating procedures.

• Administer scripts and manage all claiming/capturing processes accurately and efficiently.

• Handle patient profiles with precision, ensuring completeness and correctness.

• Liaise with healthcare professionals when required.

• Resolve queries and follow up to ensure customer satisfaction.

Duties:

• Communicate with customers via telephone or in person regarding medication and healthcare services.

• Accurately capture prescriptions received at the Central Pharmacy Centre.

• Manage queries related to prescriptions and patient profiles.

• Assist with chronic medication authorizations.

• Coordinate with other departments as necessary.

• Perform ad hoc operational tasks as required.

Knowledge:

• Strong product knowledge, including over-the-counter (OTC) medications.

• Understanding of SAPC regulations and relevant legal requirements.

• Knowledge of chronic authorization processes and procedures.

• Commitment to customer service and ethical working practices.

• Compliance with all operational and legal standards.

Skills:

• Computer literate (MS Office).

• Strong customer service orientation and team collaboration.

• Integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.

• Bilingual ability, with English as a requirement.

Minimum Requirements:

Experience:

• Minimum 1 year in the role of Pharmacist Assistant Post Basic.

Education:

• Further Education and Training Certificate in Pharmacist Assistance (Essential).
