The Retail Client Services team is the primary touchpoint for clients, including investors and independent financial advisers, playing a crucial role in shaping their experience with Allan Gray. The Client Experience (CX) team drives the strategy and execution of solutions to enhance this experience.

Role: Business Analyst – CX Data Analytics Specialisation
The CX team consists of Business Analysts, Specialists, and Product Owners. As a Business Analyst, your primary responsibility is to provide in-depth analysis and project support, leveraging data to solve client service challenges. This fast-paced, high-performance environment emphasizes data-driven decisions and measurable business impact.

Strategic Alignment

  • Deliver business intelligence that supports and enhances the client experience and retail strategy.
  • Serve as the data competence center for Retail business, with expertise in client interaction data across all servicing channels.
  • Generate insightful analysis to improve decision-making and identify opportunities for CX improvements.

Long-Term Objectives

  • Client Behavioral Analysis: Develop a holistic understanding of client behavior by integrating interaction data from multiple channels with client profiles.
  • Data Governance: Enhance data accuracy, usability, and documentation to support analytics and compliance.
  • Predictive Analytics: Use historical data and statistical modeling to forecast future outcomes.
  • Operational Efficiency: Identify inefficiencies in client interactions and optimize channel usage for scalability.
  • Blended Analytics: Combine offline and online client behavior data to enrich insights.
  • Empower Business: Provide tools and training to enable self-sufficiency in basic data analytics.
  • Continuous Improvement: Refine and enhance business-as-usual (BAU) processes.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in an analytical or quantitative field (e.g., computer science, engineering, statistics, data science, commerce).
  • 1.5+ years of relevant experience.

Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Power BI).
  • SQL coding, interpretation, and optimization.
  • Understanding of AI concepts and applications.
  • Python (advantageous).
  • Experience with Snowflake (advantageous).
  • Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and self-motivated.
  • Ability to collaborate across teams and engage stakeholders.

Core Responsibilities

  • Data gathering, cleaning, and analysis.
  • Generating actionable reports and insights.
  • Managing BAU and ad-hoc data requests.
  • Developing and maintaining operational dashboards.
  • Supporting business case development and change management.

Technical Data Analysis

  • Hands-on experience with SQL, Power BI, Snowflake, and Python.
  • Application of statistical and machine learning techniques.
  • Business intelligence and data visualization expertise.

Relationship Management

  • Building a cross-functional network, particularly with IT and Retail Client Services.
  • Serving as the primary contact for client interaction data.

Business Analysis & Problem-Solving

  • Conducting detailed data analysis for CX projects.
  • Gathering requirements, interpreting data, and recommending solutions.
  • Tracking and documenting business value, processes, and problems.

Project Management

  • Supporting or leading ad-hoc projects.
  • Engaging stakeholders and managing risks.
