Job Description & Summary
At PwC, our Sustainability and Climate Change (S&CC) team plays a critical role in helping clients navigate the evolving landscape of sustainability and environmental responsibility. As a Sustainability Consultant, you will provide assurance on key non-financial and sustainability performance indicators, support clients in meeting regulatory requirements, and assist audit teams with environmental, social, and governance (ESG) matters, including decommissioning and site restoration.
We are seeking driven professionals with a passion for sustainability, a keen analytical mind, and the ability to deliver high-quality insights that drive measurable impact. You will work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, collaborating with diverse teams to deliver innovative solutions that build trust and foster long-term sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct assurance engagements on sustainability reports, integrated reports, and ESG disclosures in compliance with standards such as ISAE 3000.
- Review decommissioning, site restoration, mine rehabilitation, and closure liability assessments in support of financial audits.
- Evaluate environmental legislation and regulatory compliance to enhance audit accuracy and risk management.
- Analyze sustainability data, identify trends, and provide actionable recommendations to clients.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including environmental scientists, economists, and financial auditors, to deliver integrated solutions.
- Continuously develop expertise in sustainability frameworks, industry trends, and emerging regulations.
What We Look For
- A BCom/BSc degree (Honours or Masters preferred) in:
- Social Science (e.g., Sociology, Economics, Geography)
- Environmental Science (e.g., Geology, Geophysics, Environmental Science/Management, Climate Science, Hydrology)
- Basic understanding of environmental legislation and its application.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sustainability and financial data.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and project management abilities.
- A proactive mindset with a commitment to professional growth and learning.
