Role Description
As the Satrix Executive Head: Operations, you will drive operational strategy and execution, ensuring excellence in business processes, risk governance, and client experiences. This leadership role focuses on cost discipline, investment operations, platform efficiency, and scalable growth while co-leading product innovation in alignment with Satrix’s strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Management

  • Oversee daily operations across corporate and branch platforms.
  • Lead the Satrix Manco and operations team, ensuring efficiency and alignment with strategic plans.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and controls to enhance operational performance.
  • Coordinate internal and group support services to drive seamless execution.

Product Development

  • Align operational implementation with Satrix’s product strategy and business goals.
  • Manage the product roadmap for ETFs and unit trusts, ensuring timely launches and updates.
  • Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, JSE, and other stakeholders to streamline product development.

Operational Strategy & Leadership

  • Define and execute strategic operational objectives for the business.
  • Enhance client service through process optimization and efficiency improvements.
  • Represent Satrix in key forums and foster collaboration across Sanlam Group and external partners.

Stakeholder Management

  • Build relationships with regulators (JSE, FSCA, STRATE) and outsourced providers.
  • Engage internal and external stakeholders to unlock value and drive ETF capabilities.

Co-Branding

  • Develop and execute co-branding strategies in line with Satrix’s objectives.
  • Mitigate risks, oversee initiatives, and measure KPIs for continuous improvement.

People Management

  • Lead and develop a high-performing operations team.
  • Implement effective people practices and optimize the target operating model.

Requirements

  • 8+ years in senior management within Investment Management Operations (financial services).
  • Experience in indexation, ETFs, and Asset Management Manco operations is advantageous.
  • Business Management degree or related qualification.
  • Strong understanding of financial services operational principles.

Proficiency & Experience

  • Leadership in cross-functional, fast-paced environments.
  • Strategic thinking, stakeholder management, and project execution expertise.
  • Adaptability to changing market and organizational needs.

Qualification & Experience

  • Degree with 8–10 years of related experience.
