Envusa Energy is a licensed energy trader jointly owned by EDF Renewables and Anglo American. Envusa is focused on delivering innovative and industry-leading renewable energy solutions to private offtakers across Southern Africa, with a goal of developing a 3 to 5GW renewable energy portfolio by 2030. Construction of the first 520MW of wind and solar projects is well underway and will begin supplying power to offtakers by the end of 2025.

Envusa Energy is seeking a Project Controller to oversee document and performance control for its flagship Sishen Solar PV Project in the Northern Cape. This 20-month fixed-term hybrid role involves both site and office-based work, supporting one of South Africa’s most significant renewable energy infrastructure developments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all project documentation and control systems, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and accessibility.
  • Implement and maintain document control procedures for contracts, specifications, reports, and drawings.
  • Administer platforms such as Aconex, overseeing document workflows, status tracking, and audit readiness.
  • Ensure smooth coordination between internal and external stakeholders for document distribution and retrieval.
  • Maintain compliance with MHSA and quality standards, adhering to Sishen-specific safety and technical protocols.
  • Review and verify the accuracy and completeness of all incoming and outgoing project documents.
  • Analyze project controls to track progress, identify risks, and contribute to recovery plans.
  • Generate reports on document control, compliance, and contractor performance.
  • Ensure document security and proper archiving of critical project records.
  • Facilitate communication between site teams, contractors, the Owner’s Engineer, and corporate quality leads.
  • Incorporate feedback and best practices from Envusa’s Quality community.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project execution efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Diploma in Document Management or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in document control and project performance systems.
  • Experience on large-scale solar PV projects is essential.
  • Strong understanding of MHSA regulations and quality assurance standards.
  • Proficiency in Aconex or similar document control platforms.
  • Advanced Excel skills, with the ability to create automated trackers and performance tools.
  • Familiarity with Primavera P6, MS Project, and the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Willingness to travel frequently to the project site.
