Purpose of the Role:
The Branch Manager is responsible for the financial, business, marketing, and people management of the branch.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management
- Continuously monitor and manage branch performance, including:
- New business loan advances
- Interest revenue
- Fee income
- Branch expenses
- Age analysis
- Provisions and impairments
Business/Compliance Management
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and the National Credit Act (NCA).
- Implement and enforce collections policies and procedures.
- Monitor and report non-compliance or suspicious activities.
- Oversee accurate daily/monthly branch balancing and financial reporting.
- Manage maintenance of company hardware and software.
Sales and Marketing Management
- Develop and execute sales and marketing plans to drive branch growth.
- Monitor effectiveness and adjust strategies as needed.
- Focus on cross-selling non-loan products.
- Drive community engagement through targeted marketing initiatives.
People Management
- Lead, motivate, and evaluate branch staff performance.
- Facilitate clear communication between branches and Area Managers.
- Manage staff training and development needs.
- Recommend promotions, appointments, and salary adjustments.
Qualifications:
- Matric certification (required).
- Sales and Marketing qualifications (advantageous).
Experience:
- 2+ years in microfinance or banking.
- 2+ years in a managerial role.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent verbal communication and problem-solving skills.
- Financial literacy and administrative precision.
- Proficiency in multiple languages (market-relevant).
- Computer literacy and compliance-driven mindset.
Additional Requirements:
- Clear ITC record.
- Ability to work under pressure and resolve conflicts effectively.
