Boxer Superstores is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Compliance Manager to join our dynamic team at Head Office in Durban. About the Role:
As Compliance Manager, you will lead the design, implementation, and oversight of compliance programmes across the Group. You’ll work closely with leadership and internal departments to ensure our operations are aligned with legal requirements, industry regulations, and our risk management framework.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain Boxer’s regulatory universe aligned to relevant laws and business operations

  • Lead the design and execution of Group-wide compliance programmes based on the Combined Assurance model

  • Draft, review, and manage all corporate policies, including update cycles and stakeholder engagement

  • Monitor policy implementation across departments and ensure consistent application and reporting

  • Serve as a key member of the Audit, Risk & Compliance Committee, presenting regular updates

  • Fulfil the statutory duties of Information Officer in accordance with POPIA and PAIA

  • Drive compliance training, awareness campaigns, and staff engagement initiatives

  • Stay up to date with regulatory changes, interpret new legislation, and advise business units accordingly

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (postgraduate qualification an advantage)

  • Accredited compliance practitioner (Compliance Institute of South Africa)

  • 5+ years’ experience in a compliance, legal, or regulatory role (retail or FMCG sector preferred)

  • Proven track record in a senior compliance role, ideally within a JSE-listed organisation

  • Solid understanding of South African and Swaziland legislation, corporate governance, and JSE compliance frameworks

  • Strong policy development, report writing, and communication skills

  • Proficient in regulatory systems, IT tools, and presenting to executive committees
