Dischem Vacancies – Dispensary Manager – Weskus Mall
Dis-Chem Pharmacies is looking for a Dispensary Manager for their Weskus Mall store. The role involves managing and supervising the dispensary, including self-medication areas and staff, while ensuring the provision of high-quality pharmaceutical care. The Dispensary Manager will take responsibility for meeting patients’ needs and ensuring these needs are addressed in line with industry standards.
Requirements:
Essential:

Grade 12 / Matric
-
BPharm / equivalent qualification
-
Registered with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC)

Registered tutor
-
Unisolv experience
-
Experience in supervising staff
-
Computer literate – MS Office
-
Sound numerical skills
-
Strong command of the English language and a second language
-
Willing and able to work retail hours
Advantageous:
-
Previous management experience of at least 7 staff members
-
Relevant retail/FMCG experience
-
Third additional language
-
SAP experience
-
E-scripting experience
Duties and Responsibilities:
-
Ensure the dispensary and self-medication areas are adequately staffed and that staff work within their scope of practice.

Ensure adherence to Good Pharmacy Practice rules and regulations.
-
Ensure no expired/short-dated stock is held and manage stock disposal accordingly.
-
Investigate and manage negative stock on a daily basis.
-
Prepare for stocktake in advance and follow stock ordering processes to ensure maximum purchasing compliance.
-
Maintain appropriate stock levels and ensure Schedule 6 medication is securely locked away with the register maintained and balanced quarterly.

Ensure SAPC registration and annual fees are up to date.

Accurately interpret scripts, and ensure all medication is dispensed according to legal and professional standards.

Capture script details accurately and verify patients’ details on the system.

Ensure accurate picking, packing, labeling, and checking of medication, while being mindful of dosages and potential drug interactions.

Provide clear instructions to patients regarding the correct use of medicine supplied.

Stay updated on medical aid procedures and claim requirements.
-
Explain medical aid costs to patients and process accurate claims submissions.
-
Ensure authorization of chronic, HIV/AIDS, and oncology medication.

Maintain and update customer profiles on the system, ensuring proper actions are taken as required.

Train the Dispensary Admin Assistant to handle most of the dispensary administrative tasks.
