Conveyancing Secretary – 12 Month Fixed Term Contract – Manpower
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Conveyancing Secretary to join a dynamic legal team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. The ideal candidate will manage end-to-end conveyancing transactions while providing exceptional administrative support to the Conveyancing Director.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end transactions for residential and commercial property transfers
- Prepare and maintain files in strict compliance with legal specifications
- Provide administrative assistance to the Conveyancing Director’s legal practice
- Liaise with key stakeholders including banks, municipalities, estate agents, and the Deeds Office
- Draft and prepare legal documentation accurately and efficiently
- Obtain essential certificates such as Transfer Duty and Rates Clearance
- Process lodgements and registrations for transfers, bond cancellations, and new bonds
- Handle financial administration related to conveyancing transactions
- Maintain clear and professional client communication
Essential Requirements
- Matric certificate (non-negotiable)
- 3-5 years of proven conveyancing secretarial experience
- Proficiency in Standard Bank Home Loans system (essential)
- Advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience with conveyancing software (Lexis Convey, Lotus Notes, Web Convey, E4 portal, Windeed)
- Basic knowledge of Aderant Expert CMS (advantageous)
Preferred Qualifications
- Legal secretary, paralegal, or conveyancing qualification
